City of Angels Warrior Down Veteran’s Support…
Warrior Down -No Vet Left Behind is a program for veterans and was created in 2012 to support our servicemembers returning from deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. COA realized veterans returning from combat missions were experiencing mental health and substance-use disorders and needed help. Today, Warrior Down is being enhanced through our Fr. Vincent R Capodanno Veteran’s Research Therapeutics initiative.
COA’s Warrior Down veterans and Veteran Navigators are now advocates for veteran’s issues having testified at NJ State Assembly Hearings on VTC (Veteran Treatment Courts) and Mental Health and Treatment of veterans for PTSD, depression and substance-use disorders. Our Warrior Down veterans continues to be recognized for their service and advocacy.
