Pam Wilson is a one-of-a-kind person as her friendship with Maryann and Kevin Meara has lifted them in their darkest hours and supported them in their best times. Pam was there when City of Angels was created and has stayed the course through COA’s seventeen-year evolution from a group of like-minded friends to a nationally recognized non-profit.
I am honored to be chosen as the 2025 “Volunteer of the Year”. My involvement with
City of Angels began with my friendship with Maryann and Kevin and the recognition
after the death of their beloved son, KC, that countless lives were being lost to opioid
addiction. No one was speaking of addiction or offering the addicted and/or their loved
ones understanding and support all the way back in 2009. Over the last 16 years, I have
served as the Treasurer, Executive Director and a Board Member.
Soon after graduating from Rutgers University, I began my career at Selective
Insurance as an underwriter. After the birth of my first child, looking for a more flexible
work schedule, I joined field services as a Sr Premium Auditor visiting commercial
accounts. I retired from Selective earlier this year.
Along with my husband, Bill, I am a proud parent of two grown daughters, Brittany and
Alexandra, and two wonderful son-in-laws, Jeff and Chris, plus two geriatric rescue
mutts, Jessie and Lola. During my daughter’s school years, I served as a girl scout
leader, room mother, carnival chair, bingo worker and after prom committee member.
In my spare time I enjoy playing pickleball, attending book club, dabbling in genealogy,
tap dancing, traveling and spending time and keeping up with my family and friends.
