The Society of the Friendly Sons of St Patrick Greater Trenton
The Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick boasts a rich and storied history, dating back to its founding in Philadelphia in 1771. At its inaugural meeting, General Stephen Moylan was elected as the first President, and shortly thereafter, General George Washington was honored as an honorary member. The Society’s original mission centered on charity, providing vital support to Irish immigrants—both Protestant and Catholic—as they arrived and settled in the American colonies. In 1947, a Trenton Chapter was established, with Henry F. Gill serving as its Chairman. Although it has been many years since the last Friendly Sons Dinner was held in Mercer County, the organization’s remarkable legacy makes it well worth preserving and revitalizing. We hope you share the same passion for the Society that inspired our Founding Fathers, and we warmly invite you to join us as we revive the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the Greater Trenton area.
